Have you noticed, that over the last say, five years in particular, their have been more and more games in the virtual universe for free. Here I'm talking about both through gaming consoles and other platforms such as mobile phones and PC. It's a great plus for gamers, that their are many free games that can be enjoyed along with the many that will need  pay. Take a look at mobile phones for instance, apart from the fact that many phones will come with free games, their will often be an option to download more for free, for example from your phone network or manafactuers website, or a third party site. Also theirs the dedicated resources for buying mobile content, such as the Marketplace for Android phones or the itunes store for the iphone user; among the games you can spend to purchase, you'll find some great freebies (theirs free versions of the brilliant Angry Birds for starters)
But it's not just phones that can be a platform for gaming freebies. No, how about with the games consoles. Maybe their aren't quite so many free games here as available for phones, but with the current crop of consoles their have been more games to download, some demo's, but over all more game related freebies then ever in say previous generations. Then theirs PC's, laptops, tablets, how ever you like to play games on with the online format. On line, offers many free games. It has been for a long time the place to play many free games, for example the free flash games available on dedicated online games websites, then theirs all the free social networking site's free games offering like Farmville  (usually have an option to give you a chance to spend some money on the games for upgrades, ect). Also theirs the many great games that can be downloaded  for free. Also, we have the free online MMOG that have been on the rise. Theirs some great pay to play MMOG, but theirs great free ones too. You may have noticed when your surfing around the net the many adverts for a free MMOG , their really are loads avaliable for no cost at all. Sure, some may charge you if you get to say, a certain level, but still theirs loads of free gaming material here, with quality games that at one time just would not of been free. World of Warcraft is one that has now increased it's free to play options as an example. That's what I'll be posting for you, the many free games available, where to find them and reviews too. They can be anything from a more simple structured online game, to a massive MMORPG, I'll get them covered for you. So as well as recommending you video games to get buying, I'll be showing how you can have a great gaming experience as well.
If you have a gaming freebie that you would like to recommend (on any format) then you can add it as a comment.
Oh yeah and their is another way for game freebies- as in physical games. Take a look at places like freecycle  where all items are donated free, also Gumtree have a freebies section as do Loot -some times you can find some free games on offer here, maybe even some free consoles too. So you don't always have to spend to play.

Time for a random online game review, this time it's over on the points earning website Swagbucks. A great website for earning points for completing various tasks, one of these tasks is playing games. Points for games is a good deal and the game on Swagbucks I'll highlight this post (out of Swagbucks' nice rooster of online games) is called Alpha Mission
Picked partly for it's nice 'console wars' history reference which is a fun online game to play; players control a Atari 800  and must eliminate all computer rivals as you try and make the Atari 800 the dominant computer systems of the 80's. It's a Space Invaders style game where as you play as an Atari 800 you use the arrow keys to move side to side to avoid rival 80's computer fire and fire at said rivals with your spacebar.
Check out Alpha Mission here: http://www.swagbucks.com/p/games
And, if you don't already have an account with Swagbucks you may want to sign up for one so you can earn points whilst playing their games, which you can redeem for on a variety of prizes (including video games, but check which countries can win which items, some are for America only).

The PS Vita is on it's way here in the UK during February, 22nd February to be exact. But Japan already have the console. Some may have imported the PS Vita where it has not yet been released and some of you may be waiting for it's release where you are-well not too long now. If you have got your hands on one and would like to let us here on Blogged On Games know what you think, please add as a comment.
The PS Vita does look like a very intresting handheld console. It has some great features; as well as the front and back touch screen capabilities, the argumented reality feature, the two cameras and it's sleek style, but to heighlight one of what  I think is s stand out feature for me is the fact that PS Vita players can play online PS3 users. A great feature this, it will be intreasting to see what games support this. OK, well their will be more PS Vita previews and news on it's way so see you then.
